L’AMOUR FRAGILE
L’Amour Fragile is an interesting and atypical wine from Bordeaux. For this wine, we pick Sauvignon Blanc grapes by hand from our organic parcel, we destem the grape bunches (take out the stems) and put them in a tank, just like we would do if we were making red wines. The wine ferments on skins with natural yeasts. The skin-contact takes 21 days and then we press the wine into terracotta amphoras. L’Amour Fragile matures in the amphoras for 10 months and is then bottled without fining or filtering.
L'Amour Fragile is quite atypical and non-traditional wine from Bordeaux, but experimental and delicious if you're into skin-contact wines. It's gently oxidised and has a good grip of bitterness, but plenty of grapefruit and citrus characters. Ages very well too!
We recommend to enjoy this wine with a rich winter cheese such as Mont d’Or, Raclette or Gruyère. Also a nice pairing with classic onion soup or rich vegetarian dishes such as grilled pumpkin or roasted mushrooms.
